𝗘𝗺 𝗳𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟰, ao preparar um terreno para plantar vinha em Chaira, Vinhais, o lavrador Francisco Martins fez uma descoberta inesperada: 𝟯𝟮 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘀 dentro de uma grande panela de barro.
Nos dias seguintes, parte das moedas foi sendo distribuída. Quando o Abade de Baçal e Raul Teixeira chegaram ao local, ainda reuniram para o Museu 9.372 moedas.
São de bronze e muitas pertencem ao tipo das votivas, cunhadas para comemorar votos públicos e acontecimentos especiais.

𝗜𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟰, while preparing a plot of land for planting a vineyard in Chaira, Vinhais, the farmer Francisco Martins made an unexpected discovery: 32 kilos of Roman coins inside a large earthenware pot.
In the days that followed, part of the hoard was given away. By the time the Abade de Baçal and Raul Teixeira reached the site, they were still able to secure 9,372 coins for the Museum.
They are made of bronze, and many are of the votive type, struck to commemorate public vows and special occasions.
